The Good news is that the BBC started BBC HD 1080p transmission on 23rd March 2011. The Bad news is that those who own 2010 range Sony TV (including 40NX713 and 40EX503)seems to suffer from intermitted sound on BBC HD with those transmission. The Worst news is Sony behavior on this Subject of not informing its Customers of this problem. The Even Worst news is that Sony has not indicated on when the problem is being resolved or is it a BBC issue. And for those who don't own Sony it is not all cheers, Samsung and Toshiba have intermitted black outs on some of thier TV's Watch dog has been informed, but more support from other readers would be appreciated. Oh! if Sony develop a firmware, it have to be downloaded from acomputer and transferred to the Tv via USB memory stick. I looked forward for the responses

I've emailed the powers-that-be at Sony this morning requesting a response, so will update as soon as I get anything.

Apparantly so. We'll report back with full analysis; at moment looks like one of BBC's 'experiments' may be causing problems....

They've been "experimenting" with 1080p for a couple of months now at least I think. Works okay on my Digital Stream though.

Freeview HD

There is a forum on both BBC and Sony Websites discussing this issue. Sony seems to be reluctant to help.

Good Luck

Call made to the BBC press office outlining the problem and subsequent complaints. Awaiting a reply...

RE: TVs and projectors

Thank you Clare for all your efforts.  Thats brilliant news.

I just hope Sony does the right thing an send all  thier customers a memory stick stick with  instructions and some additional Web software such as Opera as matter of good will and incentive.

I really surprised that your team was not aware of this issue.  But in your defence I spoke to a Sony shop last week and they were not aware of it.

Again thank you for your help, it proves that your forum have been profitable.

I looked forward to your update.

Kind Regards

Hugh

Glad we could have helped - as soon as we encounter these issues we can pursue companies for a solution. But we hadn't either encountered this problem ourselves or heard of it from others until you posted on this Forum - we usually hear of problems far faster!

Spread the word that we're here to help Smile

Calm down - no reports of any effect on Panasonic sets. Some mention of picture issues on some Samsung TVs, but we're looking into that.
