Actually, don't know if it's the TV or the remote.

Since about 6pm today whatever you press on the remote it doesn't respond or it'll switch itself off. Press 'Text' and it changes channels... tried changing batteries and still the same.

Any ideas?

Well assuming it’s the remote that came with the TV, and although  I know you don't want to the only logical thing which comes to mind is to reset the TV *OUCH*

To save anyone asking, it's an LG 32LS5600 and the manual is here...

(Reading it now.)

OK, try this. Take batteries out of remote.  Now press any button on the remote and keep it pressed down for at least 1 minute. (Resets the remote)

Put batteries back in.

Try again.

A lot less painful than my suggestion.

Good call.

Ta. My manual is up in the attic, so I switched the TV off and unplugged for a few minutes. Seems to have done the trick.
