Getting real headache choosing 32" LCD!!!
Hello everyone!
I have an 28" CRT TV at the moment and would really like to 'upgrade' to a 32"LCD but I am finding it impossible to choose which one (will be getting the Oct issue so hopefully this will help) as once I make up mind I go onto forums and see people pulling the one I have chosen to pieces!
I originally thought about the Toshiba 32WLT68 but now really like the look of the Panasonic TX-32LXD700.
Does anyone have either and what do you think?
Also need a DVD Player and like the look of the Panasonic DVD S52?
I don't keep well (always go for the sympathy vote!lol) so need something which will be easy to set up and use but will great picture and sound quality as I watch a lot of TV!
I need a TV which gives a good picture in SD as this is what I will be watching.
Does any TV have very good settings out of the box?
I will attempt to calibrate settings (hope it is easy?) but would like to do this at my leisure.

I was wondering how I choose the correct height of Video Stand so that the LCD is at eye level?

Assuming you sit on a fairly conventional sofa or whatever, I reckon a stand that has its top shelf at around one metre should be about right.
I think the SONY KDL-32D3000 is great for Standard Definition TV

Andrew I have had a look at this but I am not sure whether the DVE will be any good for me as I am a bit of a technophobe so may make things worse?!

Do you mean one metre from to the top of the TV?
I have measured the video cabinet I have my 28" CRT on and it is 69cm and I think this would be too high for an LCD?

As far as DVD players are concerned, have a look at the Toshiba DVD-370 - it's a steal at around £50-60 and delivers a very good picture.
