Difference between hd ready and full hd

Hi, I'm looking at buying a new tv. My current tv is Panasonic TH-37PX80. This has been a great tv but I was wondering will I notice a big difference between hd ready on 37" and full hd on 47-50". I'm currently looking at the 47 as740 from Panasonic but I know that the plasmas are good for sports etc.  Trying to locate a plasma model from last year but can't find any. Can anyone share any decent advice please? Thanks.

If you can stretch your budget, this is the best you can buy.

Plasma TVs are vanishing from the market. GT60 or ST60 may have been at your budget, but you'll struggle to find one.

Ok but what about the new models? Are they going to be a patch on the plasma's. Particularly the one you've mentioned. Thanks

Thanks for the heads up. I've seen this and I think this is a pretty good deal but reviews are sparse. Any comments from anyone?

Yep, it looks a good deal but get it from John Lewis:

RE: Difference between hd ready and full hd

Just a quick update and a thankyou to everyone who posted. I've managed to get hold of a Panasonic tx50st60 from Panasonic outlet. Condition of the tv is superb and the picture is even better. I wanted to stay with Panasonic as I like their tv's but the new ones dont fill me with much confidence. Can anyone now recommend a professional calibrator in the north west please?

Thanks
