You're asking this of a man with grand designs on building his own house, with a dedicated cinema room? :shifty:

You can save upto a third if you build your own house, thereby freeing some cash for a decent home cinema.  Wink

Can't find any decent land though. Sad

do what I'm doing and build an extension instead and turn that into a cinema ... If you carry out a lot of the work yourself you start to justify using the money you save to spend on your cinema kit - there's logic in there somewhere. At least my wife seems to have gone for it!!

Thats an option as well. How easy is it to get planning permission?

Hello again James31180,

No, I wasn't abducted by aliens. Upon my soul, I didn't imagine that it would be two full months before I replied. And the spot of research hasn't lasted that long, so sorry. Several job applications, a trip to Sheffield to attend a one-day conference on 1.5T as opposed to 3T MRI scans, very many meetings and trips away from home about table-tennis, a change in the number of people in my household, a four-day conference on Statistical Parametric Mapping, and ........

Anyway, this is the time of year when the television landscape significantly changes, so what I would have said had I replied at the end of February differs from what I would now suggest, at the end of April. However, before I launch into my spiel, I would like to know if you are still interested in a 65" set, or have you bought one by now anyway?

RE: Best 65" tv?

Thanks, bigboss. I note that the OP has not placed any further posts in my two months away, so maybe he's given up on me and bought a 65" TV anyway.
