advice needed
I can't really advise as i'm no expert but i think it's all down to personel choice, i have an older panasonic tv, a five star review at the time but it's several years old now.
As mentioned above try to view both & then it's down to you who you want to give your money to sony or panasonic.
Hi guy's.
Went to JL today, was there for an hour or so deciding what TV to purchase... After changing my mind a thousand times i ended up going for the Pana 50 Inch..! The Pana just seemed more natural to my eyes..! I must say both TV's are excellent and neither is to far ahead or behind from what i saw. i ended up paying £1,199 Iwhich included a Blu-Ray Player, Two 3D Glasses along with two Blu-Ray DVD'S. Avatar and some other one.
P.s. Can anyone please guide me into breaking in the TV. I was told 48 hours by the sales man in JL....But from what i have read on this forum that's nonesne and should be alot longer..!
Just make sure you don't watch TV in "dynamic" mode for the first 200 hours or so, & you'll be fine. Just watch it in normal or movie mode.
Thank's for the reply BB. Do i have to turn down any of the setings while i run it in.... or just simply keep away from dynamic mode..!?
It might also be an idea to avoid channels like BBC News, that have a scrolling bar at the bottom of the screen. The outline of the scrolling bar is always on the screen, so might just cause image retention problems with a plasma set while the set is new.
Also you could make sure the pixal orbitor is switched to on in your settings,i used THX mode when first running mine.
Great choice by the way mate
Thank you Son/GSB, appreciated for the advice. My set arrives tomorrow, i'm soooo excited!!! I'm going to let in run in for at least 3oo hours... Before even thinking of playing aroeund with any settings. Any further advice would be appreciated as usual...
Just had my 50GT50 delivered by JL.. Im bricking myself to turning it on...Lol. I'll update you tomorrow if i come accross aby problems, ect , ect.. And as usual any advice to run it in would be greatly appreciated. Peace.
Im bricking myself to turning it on
Go on....DO IT!!! lol
DONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IT!!!! Lol. lovely looking set, from the outside. I can't yet comment on the Picture, im currantly letting in run in. Only been 10 hours. Ive kept it off dynamic mode, its currantly on Normal, with contrast, color, brightness ect,ect all below 25...Lol. Im so worried something may go wrong ive gone the extra mile to make sure it does not. im i being to sensative.. ? Can i watch it normal mode with color ect ect set up and not worry about screen burn or IR....ect, ect..? The TV did hav a buzzing noise/sound for the first 3 Minutes but after that , it was all good. seems like i have a good one.Touch wood.

I have just kept it on normal factory settings and have been fine. I love the picture so haven't bothered changing it. Make sure the pixel orbitor is always on. I have heard changing to THX mode disables it., but on normal factory settings it is fine. Just be careful not leaving it on Sky Sports News too long while you run it in, and just be sensible and you will be fine. Great choice btw, what a picture!
When I bought my plasma I just turned it on and enjoyed it. Why the paranoid worries? More than any other kit we need reviews. Comparison in a shop is futile bearing little comparison with a normal domestic environment without any calibration.
Hi.
Can someone please Message settings for the 50GT50..! i have read many times that each individual has to calab to there own room settings, but i would like them as a starting point. So if that;s possible, i would appreciate it.
Thanks.
