£500 LCD/Plasma recommendations please

Hi All, looking for some suggestions for new TV for mumsie, doesn't need to be full HD 720p would be fine, she is currently considering this one Samsung PS42A457 (plasma) from richer sounds. Have bee running round in circles trying to bring up good suggestions for her.

Any suggestions welcome to aid her options, thanks
