50-55" TV.

What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision recently gave the Samsung PS51F5500 a 5 ***** review so I decided to buy it.Then just before ordering it, I saw another review yesterday which said it was the worst TV on the market because you cannot watch it in a bright room.My living room is neither too bright nor too dark.I curently have the Panasonic 50GT50 in my living room and will move it to my kitchen.

Any reccommendations for a 50-55" Smart TV for no more than £1000?

Yes, the Samsung you have mentioned has a very reflective screen, so it's not suitable for a bright room.

I wouldn't say that it's the worst TV on the market though, far from it.

The Panasonic 50GT60 is the one to look at considering your price range:

Also consider the Panasonic 50ST60:

One review of this set that I

One review of this set that I saw said it was not good in a bright room, but the review certainly did not say that it was a bad television. That's not fair. In fact, in dark conditions it is very good for the price and one that I would be happy to go for myself, if I were considering a 50" TV.
By the way, if you already have a 50" TV why are you considering another television of similar size? Your present TV is quite a good one already!

RE: One review of this set that I

I have moved the Panasonic GT50 to my kitchen where I spend most of my time watching tv,mostly sport.

My daughter would like a Smart TV and mostly watches the Disney channel and movies.Being a Home Cinema buff,I don't want a rubbish Smart TV for my living room even if I don't watch it much.
