Hi, can anyone help or give advice. I am looking  to buy a new tv. I am not bothered about if it has internet access, or USB inputs etc, just picture quality. Blu-ray is where i would like it to really show off at what it can do. I have a Panasonic DMP-BD80 Blu-ray player, i have been looking at the new Panasonic VT20 plasma series which does have 3D, this would just be a bonus feature for the future, not that fussed about 3D at the moment, not untill it has been around for a while, but then 4K2K could only be a few years to hit the shops. Just can't keep up with technology, moves to fast. For now i have around 2K to spend, and would like to go bigger than my current 42 inch at the moment.      CHEERS!

Re: "2000 to spend

Max - you may be right but remember the G20 in this mag did not even get 5 stars even in a lower sub category of the very best 40/42'' sets. Now that is quite a leap for the VT20 to jump to a whole new category and then beat the very sets that the G20 could not even be measured against such was the inferiority of it

............. Look at it another way if price had not been considered in the review the Pana G20 must surely have dropped even another star against the Philips and the Samsung as by default the sony must drop a star as it was 5 stars against sets in a sub category it could not compete against....

bear with me........therefore the VT20 has to make the jump from (the G20) 3 stars to 4 stars to 5 stars and beyond the philips and samsung equivalent sets!!!!!!!!!

What a jump -

MAX - how much extra tech is on this set - surely it isnt possible!!!!!!!!!! its got a bit deeper blacks.

or put it another way......it cant do it in this mag

I think you're reading too much into the star ratings, much more than the reviewers intended.

Re: "2000 to spend

i agree with bb..

also , whfi have consistently bucked the trend of reviewers that have generally been highly impressed by recent panasonic plasmas , that is their view and thats fair enough ..

but , the fact that two astronomically priced lcd tvs should get 5 stars , and the sony 40ex503 should get 5 stars (many others agree with that actually) and the g20 should only get 4 , is imo more indicitive of whfis personal preferances than the g20s real world merits ...
