Which turntable (Stanton vs. ProJect)?
Hi all,
I'm getting a new turtable to replace my old one and basically I have two options.
1. ProJect Debut Carbon with Ortofon 2M Red
2. Standon STR8-150
I'm not a DJ (so maybe that Stanton one isn't really for me), but I will be using the turntable a lot. ProJect seems to be the better choice when it comes to sound quality and disc wear, but the Stanton TT has some things I'd really want (i.e. all the fancy automation).
Which one would you guys recommend, and why?
Thanks in advance!

You have another option if you like the idea of the automation...

So you have a budget between 300-450 quid and have only 2 options !!.
Ye Gods i give up

I can understand floyd droid's frustration. Perhaps the OP could tell us why such a short list (I've never heard of the second choice), is this all he can audition locally or is there some other reason these are the only two choices he sees.

The Pro-ject.
Because of all the things the Stanton has that you dont need (i.e. all the fancy automation).
