Turntable to match - Rotel 1520/B&W 685's

Hello all.

I have been thinking very hard lately about investing in a decent turntable and would like some help, I have never owned one before.
My current system is as follows:

Amp: Rotel RA-1520

DAC: Audiolab M-DAC

Speakers: B&W 685

Stands: Partington Super Dreadnought

Interconnects & Cables: QED

I only really want to be spending around £300-£350 maximum really as I don't think I will be getting a massive collection of vinyl to begin with I just really want to test it out and have a taste of the vinyl experience. It seems very appealing to me owning certain vinyls with the artwork included etc, rather than just a non-physical FLAC file.

Basically my questions are:

Will using a £300 turntable be a huge step down in sound quality compared to the M-DAC?

What are some good matching turntables for Rotel/B&W?

Thanks for all your help in advance,
Kind Regards,

James P

If new I'd go for Rega or Pro-ject - the Carbon looks good because of the arm.

If you'd consider secondhand, then one of the Technics SL1x00 series would do the trick.
