Trying to decide on a turntable and phono stage

Looking to get a turntable, and am thinking of a Rega P3 with the Elys cartridge. I would also need a phono stage (my amplifier is an Icon Audi Stereo 40 mkIII). What phono stage would be best? I'm currently thinking of either getting a Rega phono stage, or spending (quite) a bit more and getting an Icon Audio PS1 to go with my amplifier. Is it worth the extra, or would I be better off getting the Rega and maybe adding a Rega power supply unit?

Thanks, that makes sense - I suppose I could spend the money I save on some LPs!

.
A £500 Phono Stage may be a bit over the top as WHF usually recommend about 20% of the TT cost for the Phono stage and the experts on here usually recommend the PSU as a good upgrade see New cartridge/Phone stage for Rega P3-24 thread.
Someone will now come on and disagree.
Have you thought about spending the money on a better TT, Rega P5 or similar.
