Too much bass

HiFirst time of posting so hope someone can help. I have a Goldring GR2 turntable plugged into the phono stage of an Arcam Delta 60 amp and feeding a pair of Mission 70s. A fairly old set up I know. CDs through the system (Technics player) sound fine, but every vinyl just comes through with way too much bass. Any ideas as to why, and/or what I can do to cure it? Quest

What cartridge does it have & is the MM/MC switch on the back of the amp in the correct position?
