I don't own it but a friend brought it round last Christmas and we compared to to my set of originals.
There was an edge of brightness to the newer box but they sounded pretty good to me. My friend, a pro musician, asked me to do a blind test and I played him songs from both sets. He couldn't tell the difference apart from TQMD, which he always preferred in its original incarnation.
Roksan Caspian Pre amp, Caspian Mono Power amp x 2, NAD M51 DAC, B&W 805 Signature, Roksan Radius turntable, Denon-1713UD, MF phono & headphone amps, PS3, Mac/AE/Apple TV
TQMD? The Queen is Dead?
Thanks anyway - im going to have a punt on it!
Oops, yes The Queen Is Dead, of course.
TQMD was the abbreviation for a play I worked on by David Farr called The Queen Must Die.
Let us know your thoughts on the vinyl box when you get it.
