Hi folks,
Looking to get a turntable again and have come across someone selling a TECHNIC SL-1210 MK2 TURNTABLE. How would it compare to the Rega Rp1 i had before?

Thanks for your reply - the price isnt much less than a project carbon.. so i might look at one of them new.. still undecided..

How did you decide in the end ? I am in the similar situation , but I had 1210 mk2 in the past and now thinking about Rega rp1+PP
or maybe I'll save up some more money for RP3 ,? but if 1210 mk2 is better than

Ended up with a second hand project rpm5 & delighted





Although still considered a good turntable I would be very wary of these unless you know exact provenance.
Many are ex-DJ's turntables and can be 'a little tired'.
They are no longer manufactured but spare parts should still be available.
Can be used as a basis for modification and a few good companies do exactly that by just retaining the platter and motor.
But having said that a good one, serviced and properly set-up, would easily outperform your RP1.
