I can most highly recommend this .pdf download from The Absolute Sound.
Very informative with a great '100 best albums' section at the end (some of which are actually still obtainable).

Seconded!  I was a longtime subscriber to TAS, though no longer.  Do get the odd copy by PDF now and these downloads are free.  Just bought the Editors Choice edition for five dollars then realised I could have had a year's worth for thirteen!
