You shouldn't need to worry about that because if lid is anything like the Planar 3 then the lid comes completely off.
It is best operated without the lid attached anyway.
I was worried that one of our cats might jump on it while its playing.
If its not hinged I can make the shelf smaller, which will be better for aesthetics.

I am building a shelf for the Rega RP3 and have not got it yet but I need to know how much space is needed
at the back to open lid?
The dimension of the player are 450mm x 360mm according to WHF, just need the measurement for extra space needed at the back to open lid.
