Hi,

As a novice with the adjustments of turntables, could anyone please help with the setup of a Pro-Ject Genie 1.3?

I've just taken delivery & setup everything, but I've drawn a blank with the tonearm rest.

I was about to play a 12" single, but the tonearm rest is in the way & I don't know how to move it so I can play a 12'' from the start (rather than 1/2" in!).

The instruction manual doesn't mention it, and I don't really want to start undoing screws I shouldn't.

It's probably something blindingly obvious, but any help would be much appreciated...

Thankyou in anticipation, Andy D

Hi folks,

I had a chat with Henley designs yesterday, basically there is a collar which goes round the tonearm for the tonearm lift.

This was set too close to the edge of the platter (from the factory).

Following partial release of the grub screw at the rear of the collar (with one of the supplied allen keys), this meant the tonearm lift could be rotated so the rest was further away from the edge of the platter, so thankfully I didn't have to resort to bending the metal tonearm rest in order to get the tonearm to track from the edge of the record.

There's nothing to help with this situation in the instructions, but I found Henley designs were excellent and the service was very helpful, so all good in the end... Cool

We have re-written most of the instructions  Wink and have full info, guides and videos on cartridge and turntable setup in the support section of our site.

Please feel free to use it, recommend it or contact us for advice.  It's what we're here for.
