Same for me. 640p is a cracking phono amp, and has a reasonable MC stage as well should you want to upgrade in the future.

EDIT - so does the MF! Sorry - missed that.

On the basis that I prefer my V-DAC to the Dacmagic I think a logical buy would be the V-LPS. Can anyone convince me otherwise. No chance of a demo on this one...buying blind / deaf.

The Cambridge is Class A, dual mono, is a WHF award winner and got 90% and a Best Buy in another magazine. The V-LPS hit several branches falling out of the ugly tree.

You decide.

Then get the Class A, dual mono, WHF-award-winning, 90%-and-a-Best-Buy-in-another-magazine one (that I bought and was very happy with).

Sorry JD....I have gone for the V-LPS based on the fact that I prefer the V-DAC to my Dacmagic....Like I said, unable to demo so had to make a choice one way or another.....

V-LPS is in and seems pretty good...read somewhere (not sure where now) that it and the Goldring cart that I have chosen are supposed to go well together. Anyway...enjoying my huge collection (4 so far) of LPs. More to come methinks.....

Re: Phono stage options.

Have you considered some chinese stuff from ebay?

I got a Yaqin MS-12B. It has raving reviews on teh internet. Its a bit more than your 100GBP budget, but tube stuff rules, and with one or two mods, you are good to go!
