Ortofon Rondo Red cartridge and Orofon T5 step-up transformer

Dear all
I have a project X perience turntable fitted with a Ortofon - MC Rondo Red moving coil
Cartridge. Can you tell me is this compatible with a Ortofon T5 transformer or which I need to buy a separate phono stage?

Hi Saab,
I'm thinking of getting the rondo red cartridge for my pro-ject experience 2 turntable- is it a great cartridge? What's the sound like to you?

It will do what ou are looking for re the top end. Loving mine. Looking to do some upgrades to my set up in the phono stage and maybe arm area but not the cartridge. Yet.

The rondo red looks likes it's going to be what I'm looking for....I am tinkering at the idea of the rondo blue too 
Yes they will be fine together.
Although the T5 may be a bit rough round the edges for a quality cartridge like the Rondo, there will be a high output and great S/N ratio
