New Vinyl Setup
Hello all I am about to purchase my first "proper" turntable etc (Rega P2) would like to get back into vinyl, any absolute musts for my collection?
Musical taste is varied from Soft Rock, Popular, Jazz, Country and Classical so would appreciate your top 5's if possible.
Thanks
Charlie, thankyou for responding, I will purchase the above and feed back once my setup is complete, once again thanks
Love over gold --- Dire straits.
Texas Flood --- Stevie Ray Vaughan ( 180 gm )
Catch a Fire --- Bob marley and co ( 180 gm )
Slave to the rhythm --- Grace Jones

Floyd Droid, thankyou very much. Most of my stuff is on cd so this will be a chance for vinyl to wow. Off to start hunting the albums now:-) have a good start
1. Slayer seasons in the abyss
2. Tool lateralus
3. Metallica Master of puppets
4.suicidal tendencies lights camera revolution
5.Guns N Roses appetite for destruction
...now those are my 5 first 3 of the top for sure but from there it was difficult
4-b Tool Anemia
5-b Metallica Black
Jazz - modern or trad? Look at Time Out by Dave Brubeck for the former, and maybe an Acker Bilk & Band(early 60s is best) for trad... Also, Kind of Blue by Miles Davis is a must.

Why not duplicate if you can your favourite cd's on vinyl, i have some dubious sounding vinyl copies of favourite albums but no better on cd in fact worse but i prefer vinyl anyway, i will say that most albums on the A&M label are very nice indeed so take your pick of Supertramp, The Captain and Tenille, Ozark Mountain Dare Devils, Quincy Jones and the man himself Herb Albert.
Five suggestions:-
1) U2 - Zooropa
2) Steel Pulse - Handsworth Revolution
3) Phil Collins - Face Value
4) Dusty Springfield - Dusty in Memphis
5) Pink Floyd - Meddle
