RE: new turntable suggestions to replace p3-24 with rega ttpsu

After reading Dandys post

http://www.whathifi.com/forum/turntables-and-lps/inspire-quest-rega-upgrade?page=5

and some internet investigation think this is the best way to go,

Now all I have to do is to decide to buy and fit myself or let Insire fit.

But which ever looks like I'll have a great sounding and good looking TT and money to spend on

speakers ohhh sure

Cheers to all who responded  cheer

Have you decided what plinth?  Do you currently have a Rega wall shelf? If so you'll need Robert to put the feet in the correct places.

Hi ordered the full Quest upgrade in Walnut. Don't use a shelf, cheers for the info. Been told it should

be ready by next Thursday then out for delivery. Looking forward to fiting it and then listening.

Never thought I would become a modder, but looking at all the info it looked like a no brainer VFM and

the looks are stunning in all the photos I've seen.

Hey Andy, be sure to post some pictures when it's all done and dusted.

I may well be going down the Inspire route later in the year myself.

Just a thought. If you're currently getting any ground hum through one of your speakers, which I did, then getting Robert to rewire the tone arm at the same time might be very worthwhile.

The Rega arm grounds through one of the stereo cables. I changed to an Incognito silver wire, which has a separate ground wire to your amp, and my hum completely disappeared.

i also had a real problem with static, which completely disappeared after the Inspire makeover.

+1 for pics please Wink

Cheers haven't heard a noticeable hum, and I'm doing the upgrade myself.

Will have a close listen, if I hear one will do the tonearm rewire at the same time.

Cheers again dandy your thread was a big help in deciding to go down this route

Excited for you. I wasn't a turntable tweeter, until I really started enjoying vinyl again, and wanted my dream turntable.

I've got far more enjoyment out of the upgrading process (starting from an eBay P3-24) and prefer my Inspired rega to alternatives like the LP12 or the Gyrodec.

Looking forward to it and it'll be nice to have a bespoke turntable

Can't wait to hear the difference

Andy, do you have the original or the new TTPSU? Cos the new one's a lot better and will give you an extremely cost-effective upgrade.

I have a P3-24 with the new TTPSU and a Dynavector DV10x5 - sounds amazing! However, thinking of a further £200 uplift with a Groovetracer subplatter/bearing.

Do it!!!

Had mine a week, the noise floor has just dropped to zero.

It really is great upgrade for the RP6!

Have you always had the 10x5 on your RP6
