New Rega, gets the Juices running . . .
All this talk of new Regas' or an Inspire conversion . . . I've done nothing to my bespoke modified P5 for a while, been enjoying the music and appreciating what the modified P5 sounds like through the 2013 purchase of a lovely Icom valve amp . . .
But I am naturally a thinker, re invent the wheel regularly, by the way, did you know someone has actualy produced a 'square wheel' that perpetrates the rolling action???
Any how, the Inspire idea took my mind, a few hours of thought, and restless up and down, Hazel said "you have an idea dont you" . . . Yep, a bit of rummaging in the shed, by 5 o'clock Monday evening I had a bodge up on the P5 working. We spent the next two hours spell bound, our Rega has taken another step forward. The big improvements are a base line that simply pounds on the chest, deeper and wider sound-stage, simply more space space. The authority in my favorite Proprius pipe organ vinyl has to be heard to be appreciated with the ability to follow every pipe position in the loft as they play, awesome . . .
Now all I have to do is work out how to transform the bodge into a practical application . . . I'm nearly there in my mind, looks like the materials will cost about £50.
Nice to be back on the tweaking trail . . . CJSF
