moving the turntable away from my control amp......

Hi

I am rejigging the furniture and putting my turntable on a dedicated shelf, so opnions on Target, Apollo and Custom Designs etc appreciated.

 Also, this means that my turntable will be about 2m from my control amp, which means either sending my arm off for a rewire with longer leads, which would seem to cost about £180 or buy a dedicated phono pre amp. So the question is, how much would I need to spend to at least stay at the same quality level as that on my Audiolab 8000C? Am interested in the Pro-Ject phono amp with the on board dac, as this will also let me get my vinyl onto my Itouch.

 To spice the situation up a wee bit, am thinking of upgrading the 'dek to a Majik LP12
