heard mixed reports but havent used them myself!
Will be delivered tomorrow, and got £8.69 cashback through Play.com, so overall price was just over £215.
Result there BBB, I am tempted by the 1042
ATV3 > Rega DAC > Rega Elicit R > Rega RS3
Rega RP6 / 10x5 / MP-110
I've not seen a bad review of it, must be decent.
LOUNGE: Panasonic TX-P50GT50 / Panasonic DMP-BDT120 / Yamaha RX-A2020 / Q Acoustics 2020i (front) / Q Acoustics 2020 (rear) / Q Acoustics 2000Ci / Q Acoustics1000Si / Roksan Radius 5.2 (is poorly, so Pro-ject Debut III) / Sky HD / WD My Book Live / Tacima CS-929
BEDROOM: Samsung LE32C450 / Sony BDP-S360 / Echostar HDS-600RS / Netgear WNCE2001
No it a nice cart by all acounts, not as forward as the 10x5, so I might try it to see how relaxed it is with the Elicit Phono stage. Be interesting to see what your thoughts are on it
I will share my thoughts of course, but you know you'll have to be patient, it's highly unlikely anything will be done before the weekend.
Note that BBB didnt state which weekend. My kind of guy , these things take time.
Of course floyd droid. Let's see now, Baerwald or Lofgren protractors for the alignment phase??
Origin Live Aurora Gold+Illustrious Mk2 arm+Zyx R100-02/Stello CDT200+Stello DA220 dac/Tom Evans Groove Anniversary phono amp/Tom Evans Vibe preamp/Linear A power amp/Acoustic Zen Adagios/Chord cables/Oppo 105EU.
isn it dependant on the arm
Help! " />
I've got the Goldring attached to the headshell the only way I could, but it looks ugly to me, but the biggest problem I have is the cartridge body is touching the record before the stylus.
It seems to me that the vta grub screw needs to be loosened to raise the height of the arm, but this puts the arm ridiculously out of horizontal, which I understand is what it should be.
The Ortofon was no trouble because of it's natural angle, and slim body, but the Goldring is a little fat EDITED, and it's belly is getting in the way.
BBB - this is not going too well! Floyd will be along soon get some pics up?
For all the faults and build of the Rega - a 1042 goes on no problem!
I feel for ya mate, really do
Ah the dreaded 1042 low rider effect ,lol. Raise the arm mate. Parallel arm is a guide plus it depends if your cart is set at 22 degs anyways.
The little fat munter does ride low , you aint the first to query this.
HiFI outlaw got a 1042 on his RP3 and it does sit very low to the platter
Also BBB ,what are you tracking it at ?. If towards the max backing it off may , just may, give you a tad more ground clearence. Hope you havnt got too many warped records ,lol.
Double check your vtf just incase you have done something braindead , it happens mate so I'm not taking the pee.
I've given up.
given up with the 1042?
