That cartridge sure does look to be the problem from your pics.
Hope you find a way to return it.
The die cast mould for the fixing plate is either well sh***ed or they had a new insert made thats erm , the wrong bloody size across the centres !.
Quite agree. Looks very naff - U/S to me. There is no way that is a standard fit and you don't have a chance of correct alignment.

I've managed to send an email to Xoom via Amazon, and explained the problem, and the reason why it's taken so long before attempting to fix it to a turntable.
Hopefully I'll hear back from them tomorrow.
What's worrying me a little, is the time it's will be from receiving the turntable, to finally getting it playing records, and if there does turnout to be a problem with the turntable, the seller is going abroad, and I might get stuck with an expensive repair bill.
Surely buying new gear should be a pleasureable experience shouldn't it? " />
And Carry On
Or as they say in Russia
And Continue Working
If your worried you have 45 days to open an thingy on PayPal
Just pop out and buy a cart locally or take me up on my offer

But quite happy for you to have my cart
A gennelman & a schkolar!!
Thanks for the idea Andy, for some reason it didn't enter my had to try that.
Well now I have, I've set it up quite basically, but well enough to play some tunes.
First record on was one I wasn't worried about damaging, just in case, but everything seems fine. The Ruts are on now, sounds great.
Even my wife noticed the difference.
I can't wait to hear what it sounds like when it gets a good cartridge.
Finally, thanks again Andy for the kind offer of the cartridge, you are indeed a gentleman, but I'll manage with the ortofon for now, and hopefully get something a lot better soon.

Goldring 1042 or 2400 probably.
I won £100 on a footie bet yesterday, just a couple more weekends like that and I'll be able to afford one.
the 1042 gets good praise, i doubt you will go wrong with it!
I did for 11 years. (Replacement styli in year 4 and year 8 were a bit expensive as prices rose over that period, but still worth it.)
Yep the Goldring 1042 is still the best 'bangs for bucks' cartridge I've ever tried.
I think I'll probably go for the 1042, but a few more good bets, and I'll pay the extra for the 2400.
Amazon have just emailed me and authorised a return of the cartridge for a full refund.
Glad I could help, the simple solutions are usually the best, but took me a while to
remember you had another cart available. I might have a try of the 1042 gets great
reviews along with the 2400, mmmm
Good old Amazon
Good luck and enjoy
Jot down Ian Harrison HiFi and put it under your fridge magnet.
Would they be a good place to get the 1042 a bit cheaper?
Wakey wakey BBB , thats why I gave you the heads up Ian is a one man band , work it out
