I'm terrible. Receive the new toy , box looks ok , job done and forget about it for a day or 6 months.
However in this instance. C'mon BBB get yer finger out.
You are obviously not in touch with your inner child
Pretty ... and pretty proud of it
Well BBB any news cart fitted yet?
I knew I'd be getting questions soon.
Turntable is unpacked and on it's shelf, it all runs fine, great condition, and the cartridge is kind of fitted, but there is a problem.
The bolts that came with the cartridge are too short, and the bolts that came with the turntable have nuts that are too large for the position they need to go on the cartridge, which is annoying.
I've (my wife really)) worked a bodge so that the cartridge is fixed, but it looks ugly, as the bolts are sticking out the top of the headshell by over a centimetre, and it's not what i want, so I need to get a smaller pair of bolts that will fit the cartridge supplied nuts.
I'm also working like a dog at the moment, and I just don't seem to have a lot of spare time. " />
Hopefully over the weekend I can get it all up and running, then the only problem will be which record to play first.

I do find it annoying that considering the cost of a cartridge, the fact that Shure send it with a lovely metal box, a stylus cleaning brush, and a little screwdriver, they can't actually send you two different EDITED lengths of bolts.
Stainless steel with allen keys (stronger)
Aaahrw ... all is well in turntable land again.

Now we just need to get chebby to get one again.
I sold my last of my LPs about 4 weeks ago. Good riddance.
Nothing i'd ever want to play again. I've played most of them quite a few times in the past so they were done with. Era over. (Finally.)
I am fond of the technology (having spent almost three decades - on-and-off - with vinyl) and I like the look of a nice turntable doing it's thing, but 'technology as pure ornament' is beyond my means.
So when you are you getting one?
After a lottery jackpot win and it will be a 'hang the expense' restored Thorens TD160 or 150 with SME 3009 in my oak panelled study / library.
