Squeezebox touch ,Leema elements phono stage , Rega P3-24 , Ipad 4
Yes, use that myself. The 'magic' cleaner blocks come in many guises and are very cheap, just one will last for ages. I just cut a small piece off and glue it on a coin. You need to be a little careful with it but it works fine.
Pretty ... and pretty proud of it
A blob of Blu-Tack also work well . . .
In my experience the white 'Blu Tack' works better.
Origin Live Aurora Gold+Illustrious Mk2 arm+Zyx R100-02/Stello CDT200+Stello DA220 dac/Tom Evans Groove Anniversary phono amp/Tom Evans Vibe preamp/Linear A power amp/Acoustic Zen Adagios/Chord cables/Oppo 105EU.
??? not tried 'white Blu Tack' Al-ears . . . probably because I dont have any. I did try it as a fixing (very small pea size) for speakers, same as I tried a black version, neither worked very well in the speaker fixing roll . . .
We've had that stuff in the cupboard for ages. It's almost essential when you have three small boys... Never thought of using it to clean my stylus. May have to give it a go (pre and Post comparison)...

cut a bit off, stick it on a coin or similar solid object, place under the elevated tonearm/cartridge then lower the arm into the sponge two or three times.
yeah I know how to clean it - but actually HOW deos it clean it
Ah, my pardon
The sponge has micro fibres which act like hooks, grabbing dirt.
Cheers Drummerboy...... Genius
How often to use it? Been using it before a session!
Seen a few posts on this stuff on various forums and Youtube, they also suggest brushing the stylus off after dipping into the sponge to remove any particles that have broken off from the sponge that might be sticking to the stylus.

They are talking about an American product when they talk about the blue layer..... not sure if it exists like that here I've only seen the white stuff in pound shops and on e-bay.
As well as my Ortofon stylus brush, I also use one of these Vinyl Passion Dust Busters, it seems to do the trick nicely.
