can't counterbalance new cartridge on project debut 3
Hi, im not sure if im doing something wrong but ive got the cartridge an ortofon 2m red connected up but when i try and counterbalance it with the weight it wont do it as it needs to be far back and it rests on the small clip thing on the botton of the arm and looks like the weight needs to be over this clip to work??? any ideas?
strange, i dont know if i need to buy a new weight, but i think i may of done it, just seemed that the weight had to be right on the end but i managed to get it to float a bit and then twisted it round to the right weight so hopefully it is done correctly.... Ive lined up the cartridge using the bit of alignment paper, the azimuth didnt need adjusting though by the looks of it? time to play some vinyl! shame its so late as i cant blast it out lol.
Hi Simon
I had the same problem. The counter weight on the PD3 is to light for a 2M red. You need to buy a heavier counter weight from henleys design they cost £14.00.
Give them a call they are very helpful.
What I done untill i got my heavier weight was to cut a 10mm strip of blue tack and put it around the edge of the weight and cut it so both ends of the blue tack were flush. It worked. But the day after calling Henleys design the new weight came. I asked for next day delivery at a cost ofan extra £5.

yep cheers, i gave them a ring and they are sending one out to me! Thanks. How are you finding the 2m red? i did have a quick listen last night but at low volume and obviously the counterweight wasnt set properly so i cant come to any conclutions yet but its gotta be better than the factory fitted cartridge.

Pics? As it sounds like either yo have not read the set up info or there my be something missing.
