as per title which turntable would you buy?
A rega P3 (in my case a P-3 24) then send it to Inspire for their upgrade package. Sublime! Approx £1k but probably worth twice that much?
Main: Pioneer tv + LX85, Sony HW15 Proj, Cyrus DAC XP+/Mono X300/CDXTSE2/PSXRx2, B&W CM8/CM1/PV1D, CA BD751, Virgin TiVo, Inspire Rega t/t, Benz Glider MC, EAR 834P phono amp; Slee Novo Headphone Amp
Second: Panasonic 42" E6B LED, Pioneer VSX-D2011, Kef eggs, Virgin TiVo
Michell Gyro SE with arm. A Gyro SE with tecno was recently on the 'Bay for £1,095 and didn't sell, so I suspect you could get it for £1k. Even with an RB250 it would be my choice up to a grand.

Ah, what the heck, you say i've got £1000...
Marantz M-CR603 + AirPlay • Rega R3 loudspeakers • iPhone 5 32GB • iMac • Apple Airport Extreme 802.11n • Panasonic TX-L32D25B • Sony BDP-S390 • Ruark Audio R1 Deluxe • Humax HDR-Fox T2
Or you could get two of the first one chebby. I can see you as a master of the decks.
I'd go for one of the SL-1210M5G decks for £699 and a £50 Origin Live Rega arm board leaving £250 for a Rega RB250 and a decent cart.
Hi-fi and shiny, with cool blue LED lights to make it a bit of a show.
Blue lights, you say?
Are you going to photograph your Michell with an LED torch shining through the perspex?
GBP 1000? I think it's hard to beat this one fella here... (complete with arm and cart)
Giro, InTheGroove, Digit, ClassicOne, MG12
I agree with John.
And Gyrodecs don't need LED's to look cool

Mitsubishi HC7000 / Oppo BDP103 / Audiolab 8200AP / Rotel RMB1575 / kick ass speaker system
Indeed, a cupboard or a curtain will do
I think Oldric has found a goody!
Origin Live Aurora Gold+Illustrious Mk2 arm+Zyx R100-02/Stello CDT200+Stello DA220 Dac/Tom Evans Groove Anniversary/Tom Evans Vibe Preamp/Linear A power amp/Acoustic Zen Adagios/ Chord cables
Agreed, that's a nice price. Though it doesn't look like this:
what about the pro-ject perspex 6? trade in mine and defo come to £1000. Think it's better looking and it's got a cover :-)
I would aim to pick up a second hand Regar Planar 2 or 3 for about £150 on eBay. With the full Quest package from Inspire you'll still have about £300 left to spend on vinyl.
