become lazy and listen to the squeezebox 95% of time best way to get vinyl to a good flac rip?

as above really i have a friend who got me a flac rip of vinyl record and it still sounded better than a cd with the lazy part. i also want the a digital version of the new noel gallagher album but have pre-ordered it on vinyl as i cant pay a tenner for cd.

so whats the best way to transfer my records to flac rip is it to buy say a £120 phono stage with usb out . 

then do i record the whole album, or is editing and tagging a nightmare is it better to copy track by track.

That's probably a good option as I'm guessing the audio input on your PC isn't particularly great quality.
As regards ripping and tagging...some software will scan for the gaps between tracks and split it for you, but their success-rate is mixed. Doing it manually through Audacity (free to download) would be my suggestion.
