Hi there

I am a turntable virgin but hoping to get myself set up very soon.  I’ve picked up a Technics SL1210 in good condition on eBay.  I believe it’s coming with a Stanton 500 moving magnet cartridge but I haven’t received it just yet.  I need to get myself a phono stage and figured, as I’m a novice, it might be worth getting a phono with built in USB.  So far I’ve got my choices down to these two:

Pro-Ject Phonobox II USB MM/MC Phono Preamp with Attenuation (this also comes in a MkIII but I don’t know what the difference is)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comshockedfficeshockedffice" />>>

ARTcessories USB Phono Plus Phono Preamp and USB Digital Interface V2 >>

Does anyone here have any experience with these models, or can you offer me any advice???>>

Thanks!>>

The new version, called Phono Box USB V, has a minijack line in for mediaplayers etc., and gain control for the output to USB.
