Acrylic Platter

Hi camcraft, I am not sure about Project's platter but I used an aftermarket one on my old Rega Planar 3 in place of their glass one.

There was an improvement here which I put down to the ability to more finely machine acrylic.

Is there any way your dealer would let you try one out?

It is, after all, going to be down to your own ears to decide its worth and not other peoples.

Hi and thanks for your reply.There isnt a dealer close to where I live they are about 20 miles away.Anyway I decided to buy one this morning as I wasnt getting any response on this forum.I do like the look of the platter.

Regards kit, I'm happy with it although it did take years of graft, research and trawling second-hand dealers and the likes of Ebay (a good half of it is second-hand).

Hi.Alears.The platter arrived today it looks and sounds fantastic.I think it was money well spent.I also recieved an LP that I bought off ebay I have been bidding on albums that I have already which I bought in South Africa when I lived there and the UK pressings are much better so I am trying to get better copies.The one I recieved sounds great.I also have a Thorens TD147 turntable but cosmetically it doent look its best but soundwise it plays perfectly I would put the Carbon turntable on a par with the Thorens for sound but not for isolation against vibrations e.c.t.I will eventually sell the Thorens and the other Project Debut SB that I have.
