acroplat
Would the Funk Firm Acroplat be a suitable upgrade for my Thorens 295 MkIV t/t?
Was wondering as on various sites have it as a direct platter replacement for Rega and Systemdecks. Only just bought Thorens t/t, quite happy with AT95.
Along with the Thorens are; Roksan k2 system with Partington Broadsides. Black Rhodium Tango spkr cables and a very old pair of B/Rhodium Symphony's. Currently using supplied inters' with t/t. Intend to upgrade both inters soon. May stick with Rhodium brand. Love the strong bass you can get with them.

Nice system and yes the AT95 is a good cartridge.
Obviously some thought has gone into your turntable design by Thorens. I am not sure what sort of platter mat it originally came with but it is there for a reason. Some supposed 'upgrades' for these mats actually have a detrimental effect on sound quality. Stick with what you have got and spend the money on more vinyl - and enjoy!!

I would doubt it but cannot say that I have actually heard one on your TT. Depending on what cartridge you have I would have a good guess and say you would get a more noticeable difference if you invested that sort of money in a better cartridge.
