A Recommendation for a entry level T/t
I would like to use the forum to recommend to anyone looking, as I was, for an entry level turntable around the £250 mark.
I have had the Pro-ject Debut S/E 3 now for a full 24hrs and have had it playing for the majority of those hours. It is a deeply impressed piece of kit. The build quality is sleek and feels much more well put together than the RP1. The sound that it produces by way of the supplied Ortofon Super OM10 cart is spectacular. The tonal balace is spot on with the music positively flowing from the speakers in great waves of pure joy!
The setup was no problem either. The instructions which came with it are very clear and easy to follow. The cartridge was perfectly aligned and all ready to go once the arm is balanced and the tracking weight set. This turntable also comes with a earthing lead attached to the phono leads which is great since the Rega RP1 didnt have such a provision for grounding which I found to be a problem and is the reason I sent it back to the dealer. That and the fact I was not satisfied with the sound. I plugged this turntable in and the difference was immediately apparent.
So to anyone looking for a great first serious turntable in this sort of entry level price range you would not be disappointed with this little beauty.
Cheers
