A couple of questions . . . ?
Whilst rumaging through verious forums and posts earlier today, I came across a statement that put me back on my heals?
. . . the poster was making a positive coment on the 'Sumiko Celebration pearwood sinature', The coment was that he, the poster, believed the 'Simiko Pearwood' was made under licence by Keotsu and re badged as 'Sumiko'. An interesting thought and consideration . . . 'a poor mans Keotsu'
The reason for my digging around on the webb was to reserch the new version of the 'Sumiko Pearwood', try to get an idea of where its 'new sound voice' might sit, if indeed, it has changed significantly?
My thoughts are, after I have completed the in progress TT support re-vamp, would it be worth re tipping my Sumiko Celebration, which was well used when I aquired it, or taking advatage of the 'like for like' cartridge trade in Sumiko offer. Its all about sound change, what type of stylus will the re-tipers use, against the new stylus type Sumiko now fit. I dont want a modern ?!?! sounding catridge that so often come from fancy stylus shapes!
Any one have any ideas on the questions possed: Is the Sumiko Celebration made by Keotsu, any idea if a review has been done on the new one or know how it sounds?
