RE: Which aspects of the Forum annoys you ?

The superiority and pomposity of certain forum members.

Those members who post in a particular thread about something irrelevant to that thread, as they seem like they need to get their opinions out there whether required or not!  Smile

Although I think I have just covered point 6 & 7 of RobinKidderminsters list.

Personally, number 1:  “those who post a question; receive many replies and are never 'seen' again.”

Ungrateful parasites who haven’t got the courtesy to say “thank you”.

Practically – and trivially -  avatars. What is the point of having them when they don’t work and can’t be changed?  I have two different avatars on two different devices (PC and mobile), and yet another two different avatars on each of these in my account.

And yes, like Robin, I’ve got too much time on my hands (it’s been a long night!)  :wall:

+1 Ben. BUT Toyota? Bernard? All great writers have their non de plume. Should I remain elusive behind a veil of mystery? Was Clarke a bird? A plane? Or indeed Superman? Please call me Robin for distinction or Rob for brevity.

RE: Which aspects of the Forum annoys you ?

I hate reading the forum in my lunch break, finding a thread that kicked off the night before (especially those with a bit of a spat in them), reading three or four pages, formulating a whitty retort, get to the end and find it locked!

Also, not so much a hate as a worry - getting flamed by The_LHC although the masochistic side of me would feel a certain sense of pride, I just don't think I could compete

Don't worry, I can't remember you saying anything much that needed correcting (because it's not flaming, it's correcting).

My new pet hate, at the risk of repeating myself, is people saying "yeah but we used to think the world was flat" to prove a point, when we didn't used to think that at all...

Ahhh, much better.

I used to think it was a good idea to rise to the bait, but then again I used to think the world was flat...

The only annoying thing about this forum is when I go to comment on something I helped start and discover it's been locked. :wall: :shame: and I've never been in the majority before.

RE: Which aspects of the Forum annoys you ?

I suppose it would be people who join for some advice or to fix a problem then are never heard from again. It would be nice for them to add a post detailing how they fixed the problem or what conclusions they came to when buying kit so that others can benefit from their experience.

The fact that I often feel compelled to post, and then looking back wonder why I bothered.

The fact that hovering the cursor over a post/title doesn't show me the first part of the post, etc. My time is valuable and I can't waste seconds clicking on every post (that or I'm really just lazy and enjoy that function on other forums).

You know it's 2012 when someone genuinely complains about something wasting valuable seconds of their life. Wink
