RE: Which aspects of the Forum annoys you ?

This isn't strictly speaking about the forum, more about What Hi-Fi online. In the section about TV reviews, it is not possible to select TVs by screen size. The various screen sizes are listed, but the links are not active. Could they be made active please? Also, there is only one category above 50 inches, which may have been okay three years ago but seems insufficient in late 2012. May I suggest that we have three new categories: 50 to 57 inches, 58 to 67 inches, and lastly the real giants 68 inches and above.

All very sensible ideas, and you'd think pretty obvious ones, too: we share your frustration, but due to the way the site is built making any of those seemingly simple changes requires quite a bit of development time, and we just don't have the resources to do that at the moment. All will be well, we're told, when the New Platform comes – but while it's spoken about in the kind of hushed tones of awe usually reserved for The Rapture, it's going to be some time before it happens.

When? Well, if you believe in all those supposed Mayan prophecies, it's unlikely you'll ever see it; as for the rest of us non-believers, let's just say we're told it'll be some time in '13, but we ain't holding our breath...

We would if we could, SoSJ, but for now we can't. Sorry.

I can assure you the magazine is in rude health, and in fact I'm sitting here during my lunch hour reading our shiny new Awards 2012 issue which just arrived from the printers, and goes on sale this Friday! Woohoo Smile

1. Trolls.

2. Self-opinionated people who will not let go of their ideas.

3. Calling people names but trying to be clever about it.

4. Apostrophes in the wrong place's (see how I did that?)

5. Cable wars aka boring.

6. Those dealer wars. Read ATC......

Too many HiFi threads!  Not enough home cinema.  I like it when the dealers argue too.  People who sign up as a member more than once!

I agree their is far too many hifi threads on this forum, my washing machine has packed up & i know more about LG washing machines than i do about av recievers & blu-ray machines,  i also wish people would contribute more in the tv section.;)

What winds me up .. not much really ... exept threads that begin with "Urgent!", "Help!", "I'm Desparate" ... as if somehow buying hifi or soliciting advice of the forum was a matter of life and death  :wall:

People who don#t know how to ask a question so revert to CAPITALS.

I get quite a few Email that have headings in capitals. Guess who they come from. Scammers/Spammer and fools.

but it does seemed to have improved a bit recently.

Any time an interesting (regular) poster is put off contributing because of (inane) petty squabbling.
