Anthony Wedgewood Benn passes

I am not going to start cooing over how sad or how great as is normally the case here, but he definately shaped British politics and challenged the mainstream, however misguided he may have been.

I think Tony Benn deserves more respect than you're giving him.

He was principled and honest, qualities distinctly lacking in any modern politician, qualities that I greatly admire. He was ceratinly to the left, too far to the left for me, but we should all mourn his passing, because there's no-one left like him.

Tony Benn's voice was quite distinctive: Kenny Everett did a great impression of him (beard included)

Ah, and he was a ex-RAF pilot.
