Well. Nearly sorted. Arranged for replacement model to be delivered using a Currys voucher for a bit more than I need - will help to pay for all this hassle. Once up and running I am going to chase Samsung (misadvertising/poor customer service etc) - my quest will continue with some nice iced beer in hand. I think Samsung and retailers are misleading customers and have pitiful knowledge of these issues. Interestingly, Currys advertise a free tablet with my chosen appliance on their website but looking into it - not on this model. More false advertising together with some retailers and their Samsung climate ratings. My mission, should I accept it, ........ (smilies dont work)

Thanks BB. Once installed and working I am determined now to chase these cowboys. If they dont change their advertising I will go next to advertising standards. I've plenty of amo. Persistance is paying off but had they come clean on day one it would have saved them time and money. More fun than reading cable threads.
New appliance installed. Final balance starting from a £800 unit nearly 3 ago a replacement £1300 unit with 5 years guarantee and nearly £500 for my trouble. Still waiting to argue for a free tablet and then I will be contacting Samsung about their poor customer service, misleading advertising and their information passed to suppliers etc.
British Gas, engineers & insurance 9/10. Samsung customer service 1/10. Currys 4/10 delivery advertising & customer service.
Continuing to make a 'profit' for my efforts. I paid £1350 for the new unit by card and when I exchanged it for the Currys voucher it had been reduced to £1199. £200 saved. Saved on delivery & installation. £150 for a slight dent on the inside of the door. Balance spent on a new tablet and Tomtom so quite pleased with outcome. Still chasing wrongly advertised 'free' tablet and I will be asking Samsung CEO what steps they are making to change their advertising & their customer service training in freezer climate ratings. I further applaud the fact that you are continuing to fight on so that others don't end up being mis-sold as you were. If others had a willingness to properly complain then there would be less bad behaviour by individuals and companies.

Well done John Lewis. Emailed them to say their website info (supplied by Samsung) was wrong. After a few days, not only did I recieve a pleasant, accurate and thankful reply but also the website was ammended correctly. Well done John Lewis.
I 'reminded' Samsung of their errors. Reply was misinformed and (again) showed lack of knowledge of the issues. I'll be back to the CEO and demand some answers and then onto Trading Standards if I getno anwers. Despite finding many Samsung products of interest I will never buy again. Their customer support is pathetic.
Although my case is closed to my satisfaction I am still determined to follow this to the end.
