After going to see Hugo in 3D, and wishing I'd seen it in 2D, my wife suddenly thought about some older non-3D films that would look good in 3D.

Being Japanese, she came up with the original Japanese version of Ring, which, thinking about it, would be absolutely terrifying.

On the same sort of theme, I thought Cronenbourg's Videodrome could be good.

Anybody else have any good ideas?

None. It's wrong. They'll look way better in 4k2k Smile

About as good an idea as 'colourising' all those old black & white and 'Film Noir' classics!

Title should have said Non 3D films that would look good in 3D I suppose

Let me just say, I don't like 3D, and every film I've ever seen (2 or 3), I wish I'd seen in 2D.

Just when my wife had the idea about Ring in 3D, I thought about the image of someone actually seeming to come out of the TV in to the room being even more frightening than the original.

So why start a thread about 3D then?

As someone who doesn't really appreciate 3D, I got to thinking about films which would actually be enhanced, or improved by being in 3D.

Or indeed someone in the room appearing to go into the TV?

Nah, I'm with the 'less 3D the better' camp, and certainly against old movies being retrofitted into 3D...

Me too, but I bet that's what the (getting more) deperate film business will do next.

In fact, it's already happening with the Star Wars films isn't it?
