'V' For Vendetta
This film was on TV last night. I found the whole plot fairly disturbing, yet the masked "saviour" was almost comic book character.
In what sense?
It's funny you say that, I thought he looked like Guy Fawkes!
Sorry that's a bit mean if you're not aware of the Graphic Novel, the biggest problem I had with it was I couldn't always make out what V was saying, which is a shame as Hugo Weaving is perfect for the role, if you ask me.
Another great Alan Moore comic book, and a much better film than it should have been.
Really? I've tried a number of his works and they really don't hold my attention.
*Dons flame-proof suit* The films are much better...
+1 on both of those

I can go with that. he's a bit like the John Carpenter of comics. Some great stuff in the 80's and then it all tailed off.
When he does his basic hero stuff it can be very run of the mill. Things like V, Watchmen, From Hell, A Small Killing, Swamp Thing and some of the 2000AD stuff are great (I think).
I love 'V For Vendetta'......Does that make me an anarchist?

In the film V the masked crusader was strangely... Mr. Faulks, hence the tube train stuffed full of explosive - and Parliament and Big Ben destroyed. And no, not read the novel.
I thought the weirdest thing was tyannical Government.
(I wonder who that was based on? Mrs. T?)
No, not unless you have a Peter Wyngarde mask. BTW, dig the Bodie-style boots and khakis...
He lives just round the corner from me
