I used to love The Sweeney when it was on at 9.00pm on a monday night sometime between 1973 & 1976, when I was on nights I was always late when that was on. One of my favourite all time programmes and they didn't always get the villain.
Will we have the brown Granada and will he say "You're nicked"

No one could replace John Thaw but Mr. Winstone looks the part.
BTW, the Sweeney ran from 1975-79.

won't be the same without John thaw tho,he was made for that role...imho
