Springsteen - Wrecking Ball
Have to say I've come late to the Springsteen party, having not really got into him until about 10 years ago. Understandably I thought his best work was behind him these days, however...
WOW!
I am just loving 'Wrecking Ball', not talking about the recording quality / mix etc (I always think his albums sound a bit muddy) but the songs, has there ever been a better exponent of social commentary in song?
I don't think so, I felt the same way about 'The Rising'.
He seems to have a knack of summing up the mood of a nation (world?) in what are on the face of it pretty basic tunes, 'Jack Of All Trades' is a stunning case in point.
Anyhow I'm just blown away by this album, and cant wait for Hyde park in July, anyone else got an opinion?
