Always a fan of free music, so here's a fine offering from pianist Kimiko Ishizaka, sponsored by Bosendorfer: Bach's Goldberg Variations, absolutely free, and available in either MP3 or 96/24 FLAC.

Click here to go to the Open Goldberg Variations project, and get your copy.

Excellent. I'll certainly be adding that to my collection of 24/96 FLAC files.

Many thanks - good job

How will this stand up against Glenn Gould's definitive recordings?

Indeed, or Murray Perahia's.

IMVHO, Ishizaka's production/engineering sounds rather fine, but the playing is a wee bit mechanical and cold compared to Gould and Perahia's?

Maybe so, but always good to hear other interpretations at least once, and even better when they're free!

Yes, "thank you" - great for listening to as I crunch numbers at work.
