Counting crows have (finally) released a DVD / Blu-Ray. It is a live recording of their first album, August and Everything After, and was recorded at the "Town Hall" in New York in 2007. It's been done at 1080i and has DTS-HD Master audio 5.1 which makes it look and sound pretty spectacular.

I've seen the Crows live twice and found Adam's vocals can be a bit variable- the first time he was very lyrical and the second time he was a bit shouty for my liking. The recorded version here appears somewhere down the middle- hopefully the best of both worlds! Most, if not all of the songs, are longer versions with extra parts which have been left out of the album version. I find that with these bits in and the explanations of the songs given by Adam that I understand this album a bit better. The band are great and they keep things nice and tight. A particular favourite is the accordion solo in the middle of Mr Jones as it's rather unique!

If you're a Counting Crows fan then this is one not to miss!
