Best albums of 2012 so far...
Interested to hear which albums have impressed people so far this year. For me, 2 albums have really gripped me so much that they have become regularly played favourites already:
Weather Systems by Anathema
March of Ghosts by Gazpacho.

Resolution by Lamb of God - Another good effort by the Rednecks
Koloss by Meshuggah - I dont think this band know how to make a bad album, it's gonna take something seriously good to knock this off the top my personal album of the year chart this year (Geddy, Neil and Alex I'm looking at you....)

I recently got two albums of Melody Gardot - very nice (female vocal, very mellow stuff - she appeared on Later a week or two ago). So looking forward to her new 2012 one that is coming out soon.

Not sure I've bought anything released this year? The newest album I have bought was November 2011, which was Silent Running by 65DaysOfStatic. Do keep meaning to buy DJ Formats latest though.

Veil Of Maya's 'Eclipse' is a cracking album and their best yet IMO. 'Koloss' is a great album, better that 'Obzen' I reckon. I'm still waiting on Anathema's latest.
The Storm Corrosion CD has a couple of great tracks, especially the title track, but I agree with the consensus that it's pretty far from being Wilson's & Akerfeldt's best work.

also The Magnetic Fields - Love at the bottom of the sea.
Most disappointing: Craig Finn - Clear Heart, Full eyes
Bonnie Raitt - Slipstream - Her best in years.
Storm Corrosion - Storm Corrosion - Repays repeated listens.
North Atlantic Oscillation - Fog Electric - Ditto, definitely a grower.
