Best albums of 2012 so far...
Alabama Shakes - Boys and Girls
Not recorded in 2012 (obviously) but released next month, Can - The Lost Tapes is effing marvellous.

There's a gushing appreciation here: http://bit.ly/JQ9pmu

Not wanting to doubt your word , as you are obviously very well informed , but I have been unable to find any reference to a vinyl release of The Lost Tapes . I have probably not been looking in the right place so is there anywhere , other than your review , where one could read about the vinyl release ?
Thank you,
Nick
not sure if this is 2012 or not but brilliant all the same the best Irish band IMO
Interested to hear which albums have impressed people so far this year. For me, 2 albums have really gripped me so much that they have become regularly played favourites already:
Weather Systems by Anathema
March of Ghosts by Gazpacho.
Any others?
I don't think 2012 has been that great so far but I do enjoy that Anathema album. Others.....
Izz - Crush Of Night
Delusion Squared - II (despite a terrible drum sound)
I think the best may be yet to come with high expectations of Rush and Echolyn in particular.
John Mayer's album was pretty good
As the year is nearly over time to resurrect this one!
How about Django Django by Django Django or
The Face of Mount Molehill by Neil Cowley Trio.
Rush - Clockwork Angels
Marillion - Sounds That Can't Be Made
Bob Mould - Silver Age
Green Day - Uno!, Dos!
Jake Bugg - Jake Bugg. The fact that he is just 18 beggars belief.
Marillion - Sounds That Can't Be Made
)
that's exactly what I thought when I first heard him.
There have been some class albums out this year, but for me it's gotta be, The Faceless - Autotheism.... by a country mile.

Clockwork Angles Rush
Lafutura Zz top
Afterglow Black Country Communion
Nothin but love Robert Cry
For me it's
Delilah - From the Roots Up (2012)

Frank Turner's England Keep My Bones

Kendrick_Lamar-Good_Kid_M.A.A.D_City-(Deluxe_Edition)-2CD-2012

I love all 3.

Bonnie Raitt - Slipstream - Her best in years.
Storm Corrosion - Storm Corrosion - Repays repeated listens.
North Atlantic Oscillation - Fog Electric - Ditto, definitely a grower.
