MP3 doesn't appreciate songs
Good day..
I recently copied all my cd collections into mp3 format and burned all those tracks into one piece of dvd. I thought it was a good idea. I dont need to change cds at all time.
But I was wrong. Too much tracks in one disc, like nothing special anymore![]()
That's interesting. I have all my music on HDD....sort of like you DVD with more flexibility and I think it's great.
I used to rate tracks and then just play the 4 star and above. Soon got a bit samey.
Now I just get WinAmp to randomly play tracks from all albums. I quite enjoy the surprise of what's coming next. Could be a xmas classic by Nat King Cole or something more comtemporary.

Fair point about the random factor. It is fun.
Surely though you`ll be saving you Nat King Cole xmas classics for December? ![]()
...I use PC, and squeezebox, and 90% I listen to most or all of an album.
I don't use ratings, I only use the PC source for the convenience of not having to change CDs, and the fact they no longer get damaged, or smudged...
The music retains its specialness for me.
One thing I find helps, is I subscribe to LastFM, and much of what I listen to is 'scrobbled'.
Times like now I can interact with the music I am listening to through the LastFM site.
All good fun.

Yeah, handy for convenience but they sort of lose they`re individuality or something. Even if you buy a cd single and play it, then buy `Now that`s what I call overrated 376` which has that song on it just doesn`t sound as good somehow or feel as special.
