Last Saturday we were at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam where we saw the Chamber Orchestra of Europe conducted by Bernard Haitink playing two Beethoven symphonies. It is always thrilling to see an excellent orchestra playing live in a great venue. There is something about the swell of sound of an orchestra that you just can't replicate at home.

The Chamber Orchestra of Europe is a terrific orchestra. Anyone interested in them can find them on Spotify. They have recorded the Beethoven Symphonies under Harnoncourt which is considered to be one of the best recorded cycles. Just search for 'Harnoncourt Chamber Orchestra of Europe' in Spotify. Highly recommended.
